How long does a consultation last?
Answer : The initial appointment lasts approximately 1 hour.
Answer : Follow up appointments can last for 30, 45 or 60mins depending on the needs of the client and the frequency of the sessions.
How much does it cost to see the dietitian?
Answer : All sessions are tailored towards the individual and the cost of the session will be dependent on input required. Please contact Zoe for further information on fees.
What are the options in terms of seeing the dietitian?
Answer : Zoe offers face to face session or sessions online via a secure confidential programme called Vsee.
Do I have to be referred by a healthcare professional?
Answer : No, individuals or family members can self refer. Zoe will, however, obtain consent for the GP to be made aware of the treatment being offered and will often request recent blood test results from the GP. She may also request consent to link in with any other professionals involved in the care of the patient, such as therapists and psychiatrists.
Do I need to bring anything with me to the appointment?
Answer : You will be informed prior to the appointment if you need to bring a food diary or recent blood results.
What does an initial consultation include?
- A full history will be obtained i.e. medical and social.
- We will discuss the presenting complain and reason for input
- Physical assessment including weight, height and B.M.I measurements.
- We will discuss your current lifestyle, dietary habits and preferences
- We will discuss you motivation for change.
- We will devise a plan set around realistic goals
- You will be given the opportunity to ask questions.
- You will be provided with resources as necessary
- You will be emailed a comprehensive plan after the session
- You will receive a full report letter after your initial sessions, highlighting the input and goals.
*With your consent the GP and any other Professionals involved in your care will be updated also.
FAQ'S - Yoga
What is yoga?
Answer : Yoga is an ancient discipline from India. It is not merely a physical practice, it is a way of life that encompasses both spiritual and physical practice. Yoga uses meditation, breathing techniques, physical body movements, and chanting to health create balance within the body and mind.
When and where do the yoga classes take place?
Answer : Zoe has a weekly Sunday yoga class at The Westport Physiotherapy and Acupuncture clinic. The class is from 6pm-7.15. Each week there is a different theme or intention for the class. See Zoe’s Facebook and Instagram page for updates on the weeks intention.
How much does it cost?
Answer : Drop in classes cost 12 euro. Please bring the correct change is possible.
What do I need to wear?
Answer : Loose fitting comfortable clothing/ leggings and top
Do I need to bring anything?
Answer : An open heart and mind is always beneficial when attending a yoga class. All mats and props are provided however feel free to bring your own mat if you have one. Bring a scarf or long sleeve top for relaxation.
